Brands

A brand is the maker or label of a product β€” for example "Samsung", "NestlΓ©" or your own house brand. Tagging each product with a brand lets you search, filter and report by brand.

Brands are optional: a product doesn't need one.

πŸ”· For managers & admins
Everyone can see the brand list. Creating, editing or deleting a brand needs the catalog.brands.create / .update / .delete permission β€” normally an owner, admin or manager.

Adding a brand

  1. Go to Brands and select Add.
  2. Enter the brand name β€” you can translate it into each language you sell in using the language tabs.
  3. Optionally add a short description and a code/slug (auto-filled from the name if you leave it blank).
  4. Leave Enabled on so the brand appears when you're editing a product.
  5. Select Save.

Putting a product in a brand

Open a product and pick its Brand from the dropdown (see Products). A product has at most one brand. Removing or deleting a brand simply clears it from those products β€” their other details are untouched.

Disable instead of delete

If you stop carrying a brand, disable it rather than deleting it, so past products and reports keep their brand label.

Select several brands in the list to enable, disable or delete them together.

On the mobile app

The mobile app has the same screen under More β†’ Catalog β†’ Brands: search the list, add or edit a brand, and swipe-free bulk actions for enabling, disabling and deleting. See Mobile app preview.

🟒 For everyone
**API:** `/api/v1/inventory/brands` (`index`/`show` open to any signed-in user; `store`/`update`/`delete` and `PATCH /status` require `catalog.brands.*`). **Data:** `brands` table (per-tenant, translatable `name`, unique `slug` per tenant); products carry a nullable `brand_id` (FK `ON DELETE SET NULL`). The brand id on a product save is validated to belong to the current tenant.
