Reorder alerts

A reorder alert is a low-stock warning. You set a reorder point for a product (the level at which you want to be told), and ZeylonPOS watches every sale and movement for you — the moment stock drops to that level, the alert turns active so you can restock before you sell out.

🔷 For managers & admins
Part of the Advanced Inventory module (advanced_inventory). Viewing needs advanced_inventory.reorder_alerts.read; creating and editing need .create / .update; removing needs .delete. Usually a warehouse manager or manager task.

Each product's reorder point and reorder quantity, with its current alert status.

Setting a reorder point

  1. Go to Reorder Alerts and select Add.
  2. Choose the Product.
  3. Choose a Location to watch, or leave it as All locations to watch the product everywhere.
  4. Set the Reorder point — the stock level that should trigger the alert.
  5. Set the Reorder quantity — how much you'd normally buy to top back up.
  6. Select Save.

What the statuses mean

StatusMeaning
ActiveStock has hit or dropped below the reorder point — needs attention
AcknowledgedYou've seen it and are dealing with it (e.g. a PO is on the way)
ResolvedStock is back above the reorder point — cleared automatically

From the list you can Acknowledge an active alert to mark that you're on it, Edit the point/quantity, or Delete the rule.

Acting on an alert

When an alert fires, raise a purchase order for the reorder quantity, or move stock in with a stock transfer. Once stock climbs back above the reorder point, the alert resolves on its own.

Set points where it hurts to run out

Focus reorder points on your best sellers and long-lead-time items — the ones where an empty shelf costs you a sale or a supplier takes days to deliver.

Mobile workflow

Reorder alerts are available in the mobile More → Advanced inventory workspace when the advanced_inventory module is enabled. Users with read access can review product and location thresholds, and users with update access can acknowledge an active alert without leaving the stockroom workflow.
